ABOUT ME

MY STORY

I’m Jaime, a Maine native who feels pretty grounded in the lifestyle and community here. I did spend some time living in Colorado, and while I loved the mountains and the change of pace, Maine has always felt like home—especially the coastline.

Outside of school and work, I spend as much time as I can near the water. Summers are my favorite—whether that’s swimming in the ocean, relaxing by a lake, or just being outside. I’m usually exploring with my dog, Kevin, who is far more adventurous than I am, but I try to keep up. I also enjoy photography, and most of the photos you see on this site are ones I’ve taken along the way.

I’m currently pursuing my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy, and this path has really allowed me to connect my personal values with my professional goals. I’m especially interested in helping people maintain independence and stay engaged in the activities that matter most to them. My experiences so far have led me to develop a strong interest in working with individuals with cognitive changes, as well as creating practical, meaningful programs that support daily life skills.

Through my clinical experiences and doctoral work, I’ve started to explore more innovative approaches to care, including the use of immersive virtual reality to support engagement for individuals with dementia. I’m drawn to approaches that are both functional and creative, and I’m excited to continue growing as a clinician.
